Crazy Racist Naked Guy On 6 Train Makes Me Miss New York (NSFW)

One night I was taking the A train home when a massively obese homeless woman squatted and began shitting on the floor of the train a few feet away from me. Everybody bolted out of the car, of course. It was disgusting. It was also a wonderfully New York experience.

At its best New York is a city of excitement, creativity and cutting edge ideas. It’s also a city of absolute lunacy, and I think you can’t have the best of New York without the worst of it. As the city has gotten cleaner and safer over the years it’s become like somebody on a very strong anti-depressant - yeah, the lows are gone, but so are the highs. And you’re stuck with a city that hovers right in the middle.

Then I see an amazing video like this one and realize that the crazy underbelly of New York cannot be tamed. They’ve tried for centuries to make New York less batshitty, and they’ve always failed. There’s always a guy on the train willing to strip completely naked and scream ‘Nigger’ at people.

I miss New York right now.
