Charlie Bit My Finger… The Zombie Version
Drew McWeeny and I have spent some time talking about the impact that video game aesthetics have and will have on young filmmakers; never before have I seen a video game aesthetic used as well as it is here, in a zombified take on the internet meme ‘Charlie bit my finger.’
Director Jeff Chan was asked to make a short film based on the ‘Charlie bit my finger’ video, and he decided to use the opportunity to make what he calls a Left 4 Dead flavored film. It’s all first person, and it’s interesting in how it takes the POV character from zombie fighter to zombie. I don’t think it’s a great work of art, but aesthetically it’s intriguing.
