George Lucas Produced RED TAILS Is Still Coming Out, Gets Terence Blanchard To Score

The long delayed WWII movie takes another step towards release.

Remember Red Tails? It’s the George Lucas-produced WII movie about the Tuskegee Airmen, and it’s  been finished shooting for well over a year now - and before that Lucas had been talking about making it for two decades. Now Red Tails has taken another step towards release, and the film has brought on the great Terence Blanchard to do a score.

Blanchard is a genius jazz trumpeter who has also composed some classic film scores; he started a long and fruitful collaboration with Spike Lee on Jungle Fever, and his scores for movies like 25th Hour and Malcolm X are simply incredible. He’s a great addition to Red Tails, should we ever get a chance to see it.

In case you weren’t paying attention in history class, the Tuskegee Airmen were the first black aviators in the American military. Their fighter group painted the tails of their planes red, thus the title of the movie.
