Nothing excites me more then a new Steven Spielberg movie. Especially when the prolific director makes up for a drought with back-to-back films just like he’s about to do with War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Fuck the people that say his films are manipulative. He’s the only director that taps this generation’s nostalgic nerves, now and forever. I don’t think my one-and-a-half-year-old son will ever experience a similar feeling with current or future directors because there’s something about the Spielberg touch, with his “god of light” eye and John Williams score, that is wholly him. And now that Spielbergian artistry is back after a bumpy ride in 2008 with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Here’s the trailer for the Equestrian WWI epic War Horse.
