Go To The Movies: Weekend Movie Discussion

It all ends! Talk about HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II in this spoiler-filled discussion!

It’s Harry Potter weekend! You almost have to wonder why anybody bothered releasing movies opposite of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, but they did. You can read James Rocchi’s very positive review of Winnie The Pooh right here. Also opening this weekend in select markets is the latest from Errol Morris, Tabloid. Expect that review next week.

And then of course Harry. Here’s my gushing review of the final Harry Potter movie.

Meanwhile this past week I saw 30 Minutes or Less and liked it a lot. A full review will run closer to release, but I’m happy to report that Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari really bring the funny.

On the buzz front, word from the first screening of Fright Night is that it’s terrible. I’ve heard this from a whole bunch of people, all whom have very different tastes, including one person who I thought would love it. Captain America: The First Avenger is getting positive to mixed buzz out of its first screening, and I won’t be able to see it until Tuesday, when I get back from Montreal. The people I like liked it, so I’m feeling good.

So what did you think of Harry Potter? All spoilers are allowed, so if you haven’t seen the film/read the book, beware.

By the way, here’s the return of Summer Movie Rankings, which has lain fallow these past few weeks. I have no excuses!
