Frank Darabont Out As THE WALKING DEAD Showrunner
This doesn’t bode well.
Well, that happened.
Despite his presence on last week’s Comic Con panel and the recent, terrific preview of Season 2, showrunner Frank Darabont has officially stepped away from The Walking Dead. Darabont may stay on the show in some capacity, but he evidently never got accustomed to the accelerated pace of a television series.
I’m all about Darabont making more movies like The Mist, and I never entirely warmed up to the first season of The Walking Dead. But I had hopes for a greatly improved second season, and while I can’t say those hopes are completely dashed, this news doesn’t exactly bode well for the series.
