Yes, Laurence Fishburne is playing Perry White in The Man of Steel, Zack Snyder’s reboot of the Superman franchise. A black guy! Playing a white guy named White! The folks who got upset about Idris Elba as a Norse god are probably shitting blood over this casting right now.
I love it. Larry has a wonderful warm authority, a real fatherly quality*. I hope he has a part to play, and not just a couple of scenes in which to appear while hassling Clark Kent for copy.
