The brilliant director John Ford is getting his own stamp.
What great news! John Ford, one of the great and quintessential American film directors, will be getting his own stamp next year. It’ll be a ‘Forever Stamp,’ which will be good… forever.
The stamp features Ford, pipe in hand, as well as THE iconic image from his most iconic film, The Searchers. It’s a beautiful piece of art. And there’s more great news: Ford is just one of the directors being honored next year with stamps. I can’t wait to see who else makes it. And whether the post office still exists in 2012.
