A Shooting Star, As Seen From Space
A different perspective on a heavenly happening.
That is a meteor streaking into Earth’s atmosphere, as photographed by Ron Garan (@astro_ron) aboard the International Space Station. It’s a stunning photo, one of those perspective changers that makes me so thankful to be living in an age when we can get into space. The meteor was part of the annual Perseids Meteor Shower, which is coming to an end.
