These fellas have the can-do spirit of a gunslinger! Despite striking out with Universal regarding the outrageously ambitious film and television adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are still looking for outside financing for the project and considering creating the TV spin-off through other networks or Netflix. Javier Bardem is still attached, but the project wouldn’t go ahead until next year (if ever, let’s be honest) because Howard’s currently working on Rush.
Howard’s devotion is touching, but I’m still a long way from convinced that he’s the man for this job. But it sure is cute to watch him try!
