First Clip From THE THING Prequel, THE THING, Automatically Smashes Any Hopes For It

In this clip we see the Thing first emerging from its block of ice. In Carpenter’s original this is the remains of the ice block:

That looks like the Thing was melted and dug out of the ice. But that’s not good enough for the 21st century! No, in the prequel, the Thing EXPLODES out of the block of ice in a moment that feels like it belongs in any number of shitty blockbusters but NOT a movie trying to recapture the John Carpenter classic.

Oh The Thing, prequel to The Thing. You’re going to be terrible.
