Sappy, manipulative, effective. Yup, it’s Cameron Crowe all right.
The trailer for Cameron Crowe’s new film We Bought A Zoo fills me with conflicted emotion: on the one hand it looks like exactly the kind of sappy, manipulative trash that Crowe’s mentor Billy Wilder would have hated, but on the other hand it’s full of zoo animals! I predict I will see this movie and like it despite myself, which sort of describes my relationship with many of Crowe’s films. They’re often sappy and manipulative, but seem to come from a guileless place of honesty.
Anyway, this trailer may include Scarlett Johansson and a beaver*, but it’s got nothing to do with her recently leaked nudes.
