The Momentus Project, A Look At Pivotal Moments In American History

Illustrators and designers get together to create images depicting the most important moments in US history.

The Momentus Project is the brainchild of Evan Stremke, who has gathered illustrators and designers to create visualizations of the most important moments in American history. Some of them, like the Pearl Harbor image above, are quite cool. If there's a problem with the Momentus Project it's that it leans a little modern - while the LA Riots were a big deal at the time, they're certainly not one of the most important events in the history of the US.

Click here to see what the project has so far; it's still a work in progress, so some of the planned events - like the Battle for the Alamo or The Y2K scare (really???) aren't up yet.
