It's been on a shelf for years. Now the Whedon-scripted, Goddard-directed movie is coming out, and the real marketing has begun!

It got really windy in Los Angeles this week - like hurricane level winds - and my internet was knocked out for two days (my power was out for just a night, so I guess I'm lucky. There are still those without power in town), which means I missed some news and updates. Sorry!

This bit is old news, but I still wanted to run it here because I LOVE THIS POSTER. Lionsgate picked up Cabin the Woods, a movie written by Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard, and directed by Goddard, after it languished on a shelf as MGM collapsed. The movie is a couple of years old - this would have been Chris Hemsworth's first lead role, for instance - but that doesn't mean it's bad. I'm hearing great things about it, in fact.

Anyway, Lionsgate is fully behind the film and they've released this poster that I think gives a hint at the unusual nature of the movie. Yes, it's a film about a group of kids who go to a cabin in the woods and bad things happen, but it's much more than that.

This movie is way, way high up on my anticipated list. It's opening April 13. Too far away!
