Joss Whedon has The Avengers coming out this summer, and he also has some kind of a version of Much Ado About Nothing coming (this is probably a lo-fi affair he shot with his friends). But that isn't the end of Joss Whedon's movie plans - he has another film in the pipeline, this one a 'supernatural romance.'
The information comes from Abigail Spencer, perhaps best known from Mad Men, where she played Sally's teacher and Don's sexual conquest. Talking to Vulture she said that she would start shooting this unnamed Whedon film next month. "It’s my first time [doing a project with Whedon], but I’ve always wanted to work with him. I’m so excited to do it." What's the film about? She wasn't that forthcoming: "It’s the most romantic film in the history of time. It’s a supernatural romance."
I don't really know anything about Spencer as a person, so I don't know if the 'history of time' is a sly clue or just titanic hyperbole. Since the movie is shooting NEXT MONTH I assume this is another low budget affair; maybe Whedon has decided that the big paycheck from The Avengers is the perfect opportunity to do a couple of tiny projects just for him. If so, that's incredibly cool.
