Ice Cube’s Good Day Identified

Ice Cube had a good day when he didn't need to use his AK. But what day was it, exactly? One man has identified the exact date of Cube's good day.

It Was A Good Day is one of the great tracks from the height of gangsta rap. Ice Cube's lyrics manage to identify the problems of the hood while also being pretty honestly uplifting about how it's the little things that make you happy.

But one question has haunted music lovers for decades: What date was Ice Cube's good day? 

Donovan Strain of Murk Avenue decided to use clues embedded in the song to figure out what that day was. Here's a sample of his research:

CLUE 1:
     “went to short dogs house,
       they was watching Yo MTV
       RAPS”
Yo MTV RAPS first aired:
               Aug 6th 1988
CLUE 2:
Ice Cubes single “today was a good day” released on:
               Feb 23 1993
CLUE 3:
      ”The Lakers beat the Super
       Sonics”
Dates between Yo MTV Raps air date AUGUST 6 1988 and the release of the single FEBRUARY 23 1993 where the Lakers beat the Super Sonics:

It gets deeper. And he finally decides on January 20th, 1992. But the world reminds us that one man's good day is another man's worst day - Air Inter Flight 148 crashed in France that day, killing 87. 9 people survived, though, so they know just how Cube feels.
