New Pics From GAME OF THRONES Season 2! Introducing Melisandre, Brienne And More!

We're just around the corner from the premiere of season two of Game of Thrones, HBO's excellent adaptation of George RR Martin's sprawling fantasy epic. To get the pump primed the network has released some new character portraits, and I've highlighted a few I like. To see the rest, visit EW.com.

First is the picture above, Melisandre and Stannis. Melisandre is one of the most intriguing and mysterious new characters, a religious zealot who may have amazing powers. Stannis is Robert Baratheon's brother, and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Brienne! She's a tough as nails warrior woman - who also happens to be really ugly. I kind of think the show did it, and even though they hired a model, Brienne appears to be sort of legit ugg.

Davos, The Onion Knight! He gets into some pretty serious misadventures. He's a former smuggler turned nobleman.
