Twitter Cuteness: Mark Romanek’s BEING THERE Diary

In 1979, filmmaker Mark Romanek was a film student working on the set of BEING THERE, and he kept a really thorough, enthusiastic diary of the experience.

Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go) worked as a film student on Hal Ashby's great Being There in 1979. Romanek got to rub elbows with Peter Sellers, Shirley MacLaine and Ashby himself, and he kept a charming diary of the experience. I love his attention to detail here - something that's actually quite distinct in Romanek's films and music videos today.

Oh, the Kubrick entry is the greatest. I can't imagine what a thrill that conversation must have been. These are from Romanek's Twitter feed; follow him @markromanek.
