BARBARELLA Blu-ray Gets The Cover Right

Hey Spider-Man, this is how it's done. Jane Fonda's wonderful, sexy scifi camp classic comes to high def.

The other day we all laughed and laughed about the horrible Blu covers for John Carter and the original Spider-Man movies. Now let's take a moment to recognize a cover that got it right: the upcoming Barbarella Blu.

That's a great, perfect cover... because it's basically the original, classic movie poster. Why monkey with something that was done right the first time?

I'm pretty excited to get Barbarella on Blu. Not only is Jane Fonda almost impossibly hot and funny in this movie, it's a truly fun romp with some incredible design work. It's not exactly a great movie, but Roger Vadim certainly makes it unique. And Duran Duran got their name from the film, so that's something for all you 80s nostalgia types. No solid word on extras right now; I know that Fonda isn't fonda this particular film but I'd love for her to come back and say something. I'd also like to see some features that compare the movie to the Jean-Claude Forest comics that caused a scandal in the early 60s. I imagine getting Vadim to do a commentary is unlikely as he's been dead for 12 years.
