Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright’s THE WORLD’S END Films This Year!

The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy shall conclude.

Were you hoping for Edgar Wright to move on to Ant-Man next? Not gonna happen - the director is reteaming with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost this fall to shoot The World's End, the third and final film in their Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy (the other two being Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. There's nothing really connecting these films and the Trilogy concept (also known as the Three Flavours of Cornetto Trilogy) is sort of more of a joke). The movie, which we've been waiting for FOREVER, is shooting this September. And we have a basic plot! Here it is:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Huh. That almost sounds like Stephen King's It, in a roundabout and British way. But I don't really really want to speculate any more with this tiny bit of info.

Shooting in September - does that mean we could have a new Wright/Pegg/Frost movie by next summer or fall? It would be amazing.
