Quentin Tarantino's latest, Django Unchained, has lost two more cast members - Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen have left the picture. Cohen's excuse is that he has to keep flogging future bomb The Dictator, but Russell's leaving is more mysterious. I know people who have worked with Kurt, and all I can say is that he sometimes loses interest in things, especially if they get in the way of his leisure activities.
So who is replacing them? It's unclear on Cohen, who was playing essentially a cameo. But for Kurt, the answer is nobody. Mr. Beaks at Ain't It Cool is reporting that Kurt's role is actually being absorbed by another actors, namely Walton Goggins. So Goggins has gone from a smaller supporting role to a much more major role all in the matter of a few days. For those familiar with Goggins' work this is very good news indeed.
It hurts to lose a Russell, but we're gaining a Goggins - and that's a good thing.
