SAVE THE DATE Gets Distribution From IFC!
I've made no secret of my love for Michael Mohan's Save the Date, co-written by Mohan, Egan Reich and graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown, whose artwork is also featured in the film. I seriously, seriously love this movie, and I was shocked - nay, aghast! - to discover that it hadn't yet received distribution when I saw it at the Dallas International Film Festival. I'm so happy to pass on the news that Save the Date will be distributed by IFC. The film doesn't have a release date yet, but it will open in NYC, LA, Austin and Chicago before expanding to more cities.
Save the Date is an utterly unconventional and frank romantic comedy starring the terrific Lizzy Caplan and Alison Brie as sisters, and co-starring Martin Starr, Geoffrey Arend and Mark Webber. The cast is phenomenal and the film absolutely deserves them. Read my review of the movie here and my interview with director Mohan here.
I'll let you guys know as soon as there's a release date and then most likely remind you a few more times. I really want you to see this movie - and you really want to see it, too. Trust.
