TMNT Gets Shellacked By Paramount - Indefinitely
Did you hate the sound of Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot? So did Paramount, it seems. With the film just weeks from starting the studio has shut it down, citing the shitty script.
The stuff I've heard about this script is mind-boggingly bad, so it's nice to see the studio come to its senses. As of now the project is shelved for the foreseeable future.
After their recent trouble - mega-delays on GI Joe: Retaliation and World War Z because they're awful messes - Paramount seems to have learned a lesson. But this reads as just more a trouble for a troubled studio. At this point Paramount just keeps getting headlines for not releasing movies. Will there be big behind the scenes changes at Paramount, or is the shelving of the Turtles a last ditch effort for some folks to keep their jobs?
