And The Winner Of The Filmmaking Frenzy Is…

Seth Grahame-Smith has judged! The winner of the Badass-in-Chief Filmmaking Frenzy is announced!

For the past month we have been running our inaugural Filmmaking Frenzy, where contestants mashed up presidents with badass alternate occupations in celebration of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (in theaters today). We had a group of finalists chosen by voting, and those finalists were sent to Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, who chose the ultimate winner:

FDR/JFK: Kaiju Killers!

Congrats to Mauriece Jacks, Jr, who has won a camera supplied by our partners at Sony Digital 4K. Here's the winning short:

And here are the runners-up, whose short films will be playing in front of all screenings of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter at all Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide!

Grover Cleveland: Stand-Up Comedian
Bill Clinton: Witch Finder
JFK II: Back to Bustin'

Chester A. Arthur: Sasquatch Trainer
Grover Cleveland: All-Star Gigolo
Ulysses S. Grant: All Star Gigolo
Grover Cleveland: Dinosaur Wrangler

You can watch all of these shorts, and all the other entries, at this link.

Congratulations to everyone who entered - we received many so many great films that we almost doubled the number of shorts we included in the pre-show!

Thanks to Seth Grahame-Smith for taking time out of his opening weekend to judge the contest, and thanks to the good folks at Sony Digital 4K for making it all possible.

Come back in August for the second Filmmaking Frenzy contest. This time we'll be asking you to create bumpers that will play in front of every movie at Fantastic Fest!
