Edgar Wright Has Finished Shooting ANT-MAN! (Sort Of)

The beloved director has shot a test reel for Marvel Studios.

What's Edgar Wright been up to? Well, there's The Random Adventures of Brandon Generator, the excellent and surreal web series he's been writing (click here to check out episode 3). And he's been gearing up to start shooting The World's End, his next team-up with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. But he also secretly shot a test reel for Ant-Man.

Edgar has been attached to Ant-Man for about ever now; he and Joe (Attack the Block) Cornish worked together on the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

In mid-June, he spent just under a week shooting footage for a reel that will be used to test out the potential look and tone of his movie, as well as to decide how convincing Ant-man's powers look on screen.

Somewhere someone has donned the big white helmet of Ant-Man... and maybe even red tights. I'm incredibly curious as to what was shot, and whether it was anything narrative or just interesting visuals, sort of The Incredible Shrinking Man stuff.

I also wonder if this somehow ties into the recent rumors that Ant-Man would show up in Iron Man 3 - did those rumors come from misunderstandings of this test shoot? Or is this test shoot actually Edgar doing a post-credits bit for Iron Man 3? Hmmmm...
