Seattle Ticket Taker Spoils PROMETHEUS On Moral Grounds
There are Prometheus spoilers forthcoming.
On June 18 a patron at the Regal Cinemas Thornton Place Stadium 14 in Seattle had a weird experience. He was coming to see Prometheus, and as a theater employee tore his ticket, he said:
"I have to warn you... Halfway through the movie, the main female character will perform a self-induced abortion."
We can all have polite disagreements about spoilers, but I beleve that we can all come together and say this was egregious. I mean, knowing about the scene isn't a big deal - it's the most interesting scene in the movie and the only real reason to see Prometheus - but in this context the information feels like a bomb being dropped on your brain.
The patron asked some other people at the theater if they had the same experience, and they did. He complained to management, and was told the guy was just doing his job. Except how is that a ticket taker's job? And how is that not a politically motivated thing? We're at the point where anti-abortion extremists don't just want to tell you what to do with your body, they want to tell you what to do with your entertainment as well.
