The Falcon Will Be In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
While Captain America's most famous sidekick was Bucky, he had another great partner during the 70s - Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon. One of the first black superheroes (and the first African-American hero), The Falcon was a Harlem hero who wears a suit that lets him fly and who has a telepathic connection with his falcon, Redwing, and he can also see through the eyes of birds - which comes in handy in his more modern adventures as a supporting player in Ed Brubaker's heavily espionage-oriented stories.
And he's coming to the movies. Anthony Mackie is in talks to play The Falcon in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier. How Wilson will come into play is unknown, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a SHIELD agent, as I understand the spy organization will play a big role in the film. And frankly it's an easier way of introducing Falcon than the comic canon, where Wilson is an ex-community organizer turned pimp who accidentally crashes onto a secret island base of The Red Skull.
Mackie's an exciting choice; a strong actor with great screen presence, he's never quite become as big as I think he should be. This could be the moment.
