Badass Exclusive: SINISTER Stills
When I do my top 10 horror list at the end of the year, it's a pretty crowded field to choose from - over 400, usually. So if you put any stock into what I say, keep that in mind when I say Sinister is still in my top 5 of the year, after catching a screening a few months back. I am also eagerly awaiting a second viewing, where I can amuse myself by picking a skittish audience member and watching their reaction to a scare in the film that even sent ME flying from my seat a bit. As I've said a few times, I don't scare easily, so when I get that jolt, I am left with nothing but respect for its creators.
Until that second screening comes along, I'll just have to make do with these exclusive stills, one showing Hawke getting spooked as he watches one of the old films he discovers in his attic that contain some pretty disturbing evidence of the killer he has been writing about (he's a true crime author). The other shows his attempts to get rid of that evidence, for reasons I won't spoil. In fact, I'd advise knowing as little as possible going in, as it's very much a mystery and you don't want to find yourself too far ahead of the main character.
And if you're too impatient to wait, Summit and Tugg are doing some advance screenings in major cities (the Alamo is hosting one in Houston!), and more will be announced soon. Check the See Sinister First site to see if there's one near you - or you can even host your own, if I'm understanding correctly. But if those advance screenings don't work for you, be there on October 5th for its official release. It's a scary, smart, ORIGINAL horror movie being released in October, which is usually glutted with remakes and sequels.
P.S. I don't know about you, but I really want that sweater that Hawke is wearing. Looks super comfy.
