THOR: THE DARK WORLD Actor Reveals Fun Character Tidbits

This movie just keeps piling on the goofy awesome.

I love everything I've heard about Thor: The Dark World so far. The movie looks to focus much more on Asgardian affairs, which means lots and lots of goofy cosmic stuff and probably more action as well.

MTV recently interviewed actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaju about his dual role in Thor: The Dark World as both Algrim the Strong and Kurse. The interview is full of details that are brand new to me, starting with the fact that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaiu was even in this movie in the first place.

You probably know Akinnuoye-Agbaiu best as Mr. Eko from Lost, but to me he'll always be Simon Adebisi from HBO's Oz, a character that - like most characters on that show - scares the shit out of me to this day.

AAA (as he's known to friends and irritated writers) had lots to say about these dual characters, particularly regarding how difficult all the make-up costume demands were. According to the comics, Algrim the Strong is a real badass who gets turned into an even bigger badass called Kurse after almost getting killed while fighting Thor. Apparently, the movie version will have "blonde hair, blue eyes, pointed ears, fangs, horns" and probably a lot of other crazy stuff going on. I love it.

He also revealed that as Kurse, he has big fight scenes not only with Thor but with Loki as well, which bodes well for a plot that demands the two brothers join forces to fight a common enemy. Or maybe not. Kurse apparently fights everyone. He's just that kind of hombre.

What's really amazing about MTV's interview video is what a normal guy Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaju is. Going just on Oz and Lost, I figured he was a constant monosyllabic scowler who will happily eat your face for breakfast. He is instead very eloquent and surprisingly animated. I sincerely can't wait to see him in a blonde wig.
