I am no closer to being excited about Disney's The Lone Ranger, but at least this latest Super Bowl commercial sells the film as a Lone Ranger movie, not as a Tonto joint. And it sells it in a way that doesn't feel as bloated and steampunk as some of the previous trailers, none of which have caught my interest. It also doesn't lean so heavy on Tonto, which is nice. There's a little bit of 'mismatched duo' comedy at the end that'll be funny for all the tweens who have never seen a movie before, but there's nothing wrong with that. I think Tonto took a little too much LDS back at Berkeley.
