Check Out Nicolas Cage With A Beard In JOE Image

It's directed by David Gordon Green, if you need non-jokey incentive.

I don't know much about Joe, one of the two films from David Gordon Green we should be getting this year. His other 2013 film, Prince Avalanche, played Sundance, and people seem to enjoy it, particularly as a return to form for Green after his mainstream comedies that weren't Pineapple Express.

I say that because we have here a picture of Nicolas Cage in a beard. And whenever Nicolas Cage is involved with something these days, it's almost always an immediate joke. The same could be said for beards. But I think Joe is supposed to be a real movie with a real Cage performance. So neither he nor the beard is screwing around.

Here's a synopis:

In the dirty unruly world of small-town Texas, ex-convict Joe Ransom (Cage) has tried to put his dark past behind him and to live a simple life. He works for a lumber company by day, drinks by night. But when 15-year-old Gary (Sheridan) - a kid trying to support his family - comes to town, desperate for work, Joe has found a way to atone for his sins - to finally be someone’s hero. As Joe tries to protect Gary, the pair will take the twisting road to redemption in the hope for a better life in this tough, hard-hitting but incredibly moving story.

So I'm pretty excited. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this picture is an impassioned plea to remember a time before Nicolas Cage became Christopher Walken. It shouldn't be that hard.
