Who is going to be the first to use Sea Bourne to describe Captain Philliips, the latest film from Paul Greengrass?
Starring Tom Hanks, Captain Phillips is based on the true story of the attempted hijacking of the Maersk Alabama, the first America ship to be taken by pirates since the 19th century. It's a pretty great, gripping real story, and I expect that Greengrass is going to bring his usual visceral realism to the film. He has Tom Hanks playing the titular Captain Phillips, one of the heroes of the event, and his accent in the trailer is making me giddy with silly glee. I love broad accents in movies.
If you want to be spoiled on the movie here's the Wikipedia page on the Alabama hijacking. And if you just want to keep up with current events, know that we just passed the one year mark since the last Somali pirate hijacking - which is a big deal, as the week in 2009 when the Maersk was attacked saw SIX pirate attacks.
