Our Badass 101 series at the Houston Alamo is made up of all nail-tough, whip-smart action flicks on stunning 35mm, programmed and hosted by myself and Houston's Director of Programming (and sometimes BAD correspondent!) Robert Saucedo. Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is the next entry in the series, and I have to say, I'm more than a little thrilled to see this film on the big screen again.
This movie is rapturous, unafraid to be elegant while it's kicking ass and making us laugh. It's magic, it's poetry, it's a serious amount of fun. And you can see it the way Lee intended, on 35mm while drinking a beer and scarfing cheese fries.
So join us! The screening's at 7pm at Vintage Park, and as always, we'll start with all sorts of fun and games before getting to the nitty gritty. Come up and say hi afterward - I love meeting BAD guys at these things!
