The full trailer for Edgar Wright's The World's End is here, and it's every bit as apocalyptically hilarious as we could have hoped. I didn't think I could be more excited for this movie, but I spent most of that two minutes and forty seconds completely cracking up.
I love seeing the dynamic of Nick Frost as the straight man next to Simon Pegg's slouchy, useless manchild, and I absolutely adore Rosamund Pike and can't wait to see her in a comedic performance. The robots look really cool in the kitschiest way possible, and the supporting cast (Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, David Bradley) is flawless.
But what I love best about this trailer is the energy: it instantly draws us in, makes us feel like this is a world we've been inhabiting for a long time. And in a way, it is - since Shaun of the Dead came out in 2004 and we all fell in love with Wright, Pegg and Frost. No, scratch that - since Spaced came out in 1999.
This conclusion has been a long time coming, is what I'm saying, and it looks like The World's End will definitely deliver the goods.
