WWE Now In The FLINTSTONES Business

In prehistoric times, wrestlers did not yet shave their legs.

This is the kind of movie news I love because it proves that nothing is truly impossible in the movie world. You never know which two random things are going to get smashed together next. The WWE, which is a wrestling thing that used to be called the WWF, has been slowly getting into the film business. Mostly, they've been doing STV action films for their wrestlers, but they have recently been branching out to non-action stuff like thrillers Dead Man Down, The Call, and the upcoming comedy, Leprechaun.

The WWE, which is a wrestling thing that used to be called the WWF, has been slowly getting into the film business. Mostly they've been doing STV action films for their wrestlers, but they have recently been branching out to non-action stuff like Dead Man Down, The Call, and the upcoming Leprechaun reboot.

Now they are partnering with Warner Bros. to bring us a DTV animated Flintstones film. The film will not only carry the WWE banner, but will utilize voice acting from WWE's stable of wrestlers as well. Variety reports that John Cena, CM Punk, and Vince McMahan are all going to be involved, playing caveman versions of themselves. Fred and his wife Barney will meet them while watching a caveman version of Wrestlemania.

Apparently, there's also a Scooby-Doo version of this concept coming out this March. I'm guessing that one will be like a steroid and baby oil version of the Harlem Globetrotters episode.

What's craziest about all this, is that it may have originated with a wrestling taunt where The Rock calls John Cena "Fruity Pebbles." I honestly have no idea if that's true or not. It does not sound believable, but there's video of it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch.

But if you just love The Flintstones and you also just happen to love the WWE, well you just has the greatest day you're likely to have all year. Cherish it.
