Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse Ritz Presents: THE STALLONE ZONE

Yes that's right, a Sylvester Stallone mega-marathon!

Tough Guy Cinema presents THE STALLONE ZONE from Alamo Drafthouse on Vimeo.

When the Alamo Drafthouse hired our New York Programmer, Cristina Cacioppo, and moved her down to Austin to train, Tim League took us out to Spicewood, Texas to eat some BBQ at Opie's. Once we ate, Tim grabbed his bicycle out of the back and tossed me the keys and said to leave his car at his house. Needless to say, Cristina and I had a little bit of time to get to know each other on the ride back and during that visit we realized we share a mutual love of Sylvester Stallone movies and a penchant for binge watching. So I figured with what little time she had down here, she had to be treated to a good old-fashioned Alamo Drafthouse mega-marathon while she was in town. Thankfully, Cristina was into it and the following Monday we went to work on our perfect day with Sylvester Stallone:

You've been to RUSSELLMANIA, felt maximum VAN DAMMAGE, and spent A WHOLE DAY TO DIE HARD, but now it's time to bust out that no-sleeved, deep plunge v-neck, grease up those guns before you slap on a pair of reflective shades because it's time for Tough Guy Cinema to enter THE STALLONE ZONE!

Put a matchstick in your mouth and prepare for a double arm-pumping dose of heavy-lifting Sylvester Stallone. This talented writer, actor and director has been nominated for Academy Awards and can bench press a car, yet still manages to get less respect than Rodney Dangerfield. NO MORE! This all-day, five mystery movie marathon will feature his greatest jams, slams and body rams in an all-out assault on your senses as you watch the man they call Sly flex all his acting, directing, writing and muscling muscles for your viewing pleasure as we take a stroll through his 40 YEAR CAREER. Grown men will cry, bones will be crushed, guns will be fired and vein-popping biceps will glisten as we celebrate the toughest of the tough strutting around in his best, most triumphant stuff.

We can't tell you the lineup, but we can say we will be showing all these beauties in 35mm along with classic 35mm Stallone trailers, a menu fit for an Italian Stallion, surprise giveaways and so much more. Start pumping that ocular iron because you're going to need every last bit of strength to not look away from THE STALLONE ZONE!!!!!!!!!

*Warning: this event could cause you to spontaneously rip your shirt open and smash a window with your bare hand.

Get tickets for Sunday, September 29 at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz in Austin.
