MONSTERS Sequel MONSTERS: DARK CONTINENT Gets A Creepy Teaser

This looks better than you'd think.

Gareth Edwards' Monsters is not just a great Kaiju film but a great film, period, proving that you can do movies like this without a ton of money at your disposal.

And while Edwards has gone to bigger, Godzilla-sized things, his debut film has spawned a sequel directed by an assumedly bi-balled, non-comedian Tom Green. Based on this very brief teaser, Monsters: Dark Continent looks like it might really mean business. It speaks volumes that the first image we get is of dead squid aliens being carted off by construction vehicles rather than any kind of attack sequence. Devin published an offical synopsis for the film over a year ago, which you can read here.

The film was shot in Jordan and won't come out until next year. While the synopsis sounds a bit more action heavy than the first Monsters, this teaser indicates a continuation of the ethos which made the first so special, all without being a retread. It wasn't really on my radar before, but now this is something I look forward to with a lot of optimism.
