Though we do get a little plot action at the beginning (including a Harrision Ford appearance), this is mostly a joke trailer. I believe it contains over one million attempts at humor. At least 900,000 of them worked for me. Curiously, I don't think David Koechner has a single line.
People just love The Anchorman's team, and that's what this trailer focuses on. Whether the movie really focuses on them or not remains to be seen. There's certainly a subplot where Brick Tamland falls in love, though. That's a ticket sold right there. All in all, this trailer is far more successful than that one where Ron tries to sell me automobiles.
Honestly, I'd rather have a Step Brothers sequel, but Anchorman 2 still has me pretty excited. The film comes out December 20.
