We all love Kevin Costner because he is all our secret father. Just a couple lines from the guy turned the Man of Steel trailer into a tearjerker on par with the Where the Wild Things Are trailer.
It was only a matter of time before he tried to do something really kick-ass. That day has come with Midnight Delivery, a film where Costner tries to "save his estranged daughter from a Colombian gang by trafficking cocaine to London on a midnight flight." So it's almost a literal mashup of Liam Neeson's Taken and upcoming Non-Stop.
I am okay with this. Especially since Guillermo del Toro came up with the story (and will produce), indicating maybe some other cool stuff might be going on with that flight. The script was written by Luther's Neil Cross. Meanwhile, the film just landed Otto Bathurst to direct. I actually don't know who that is because he mostly works on British television miniseries I haven't seen. But I like his name!
Let's all cross our fingers for this one. A great Kevin Costner thriller sounds just right.
