When not appearing on every nerd fan-casting list made in the last few years, Joseph Gordon-Levitt runs a really cool production company called HitRECord which works as community where artists can strut their stuff in front of other artists and possibly even people who enjoy various forms of artistry.
Now he's bringing all that communal warmth to the small screen with a neo-variety show called HitRECord on TV. According to this trailer, it appears to synthesize an "everyone wins" talent showcase and U2's Zoo TV Tour.
I'm all for it. How could you not like something so earnest and positive, presented by a figure as charming as this guy? The show will air starting January on Pivot, which means TV has only a few precious weeks to invent a channel called Pivot.
