HOUSE OF CARDS Season Two Gets An Intense New Trailer

I'm one of those sad folks who has yet to see the first season of House of Cards, so I'm absolutely mystified by this trailer. There's a lot of political intrigue, threatening, and shots of a stern looking Robin Wright. It all looks pretty intense, and I can see why so many love the show. But I have no idea what's going on at all.

And then Kevin Spacey talks to the camera. I'm okay with fourth wall breaks, but there's something about his smugness combined with the goofy low-angles that make it seem almost too silly to handle. There's also a brief shot where someone punches Jimmi Simpson in the face. I love Jimmi Simpson but have a hard time taking his non-It's Always Sunny appearances seriously. That's probably just my problem, though.

House of Cards season two hits Netflix on February 14, which means lovers across the country can enjoy each other's company by eating junk food in their pajamas until 4 in the morning together, just like they did it in the old days.
