DC Comics’ DMZ Could Become A Series On Syfy

MAD MEN writers are turning Manhattan into a war zone.

Deadline reports that ex-Mad Men writer-producer team Maria and Andre Jacquemetton will adapt DC's DMZ comic series for Syfy. It is not yet known how they intend to put ghost sharks into the show, but their six season Mad Men run indicates a clever integration regardless of their method.

This is actually really cool news, though. DMZ was a Vertigo book by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli which starred Manhattan as a demilitarized zone. I don't know if the quality eventually went down on the series, but I enjoyed the few graphic novels I read.

Not much else is currently known about the project. There's no timeline for production nor any word on how much the series intends to stick to the comics, which ended after 72 issues. But it's definitely a curiosity to look out for in the future.
