AMC Makes It Official: Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Adapting PREACHER For TV

Badass Digest's scoop about the comic adaptation is confirmed fully. And there's a BREAKING BAD connection!

In November I brought you the news that Seth Rogen and AMC were teaming up to adapt the classic Vertigo comic series Preacher. Now AMC has made that very official, and have announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will write the initial scripts, with the network making a big committment. Apparently there was a network bidding war.

That's all pretty much what I told you in November. The big new news is that Sam Catlin, a writer and producer on Breaking Bad, will be the showrunner for Preacher. That's a great sign, and means we can be cautiously optimistic this might work out.

"This is amazing! We've tried for seven years to work on Preacher and we're so psyched AMC is finally letting us. It is our favorite comic of all time, and we're going to do everything we can to do it right. Humperdoo!" Rogen and Goldberg said in a joint statement.
