Paul Thomas Anderson’s INHERENT VICE Is Going To Sound Great

Jonny Greenwood to score yet another PTA classic.

Inherent Vice is going to be a curious beast. The Thomas Pynchon novel its based upon is a lot goofier than we're used to from Paul Thomas Anderson, particularly this new Absolute Master of Cinema version of Paul Thomas Anderson, the Paul Thomas Anderson who made There Will Be Blood and The Master.

Both of those films were scored by Radiohead and Weird Sisters guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and according to Film Music Reporter, he's going to take scoring duties for Inherent Vice as well. What this will ultimately sound like is anyone's guess, but he is going to record it with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, so I have to assume a cello will make an appearance.

Inherent Vice doesn't have a trailer or a release date or anything like that yet, but it's surely a film that looms large in the minds of film fans everywhere. Especially ones who have seen Joaquin Phoenix's costume.
