David Yates’ TARZAN Gets A Summer 2016 Release Date

Swinging into theaters yadda yadda yadda.

Every classic hero has his or her day where they get to have his or her day again, even when people don't really ask for it. The Long Ranger got one. Frankenstein's monster, I, got one. And now Tarzan is getting one. Put them all together and you get this:

As you probably already know, this new Tarzan will be directed by David Yates. It stars Alexander SkarsgÄrd as Tarzan. Margot Robbie will play Jane. Christoph Waltz is playing Mr. I Don't Like Tarzan, and Samuel L. Jackson is playing Samuel L. Jackson.

But now we also know when it will come out: July 1, 2016. This puts it in competition with the Angry Birds movie and Independence Day 2. Out of the three, I believe I will be seeing Independence Day 2, unless I find out it doesn't feature the ghost of Randy Quaid's character, in which case I will go fishing. If all the fish are dead, I will rent George of the Jungle.
