Introducing The Yeti Bait Cocktail

Sweet and smoky, just like a rib nailed to a tree in order to entice a Sasquatch.

Next week the Houston Alamo is bringing renowned/infamous Bigfoot hunter Rick Dyer for a mystery Sasquatch movie, a Bigfoot body viewing and some truly weird Q&A action. Controversy has arisen over this event, which is of course enjoyable for everyone except the Illumiyeti.

To celebrate, the Alamo's Geoffrey Abdallah invented a cocktail called The Yeti Bait. I tried one last week at the Vintage Park anniversary party, and it is DELICIOUS. We asked The Highball's favorite bartender, Heather Smith, to demonstrate the concocting of a Yeti Bait for us. See the video above, and read the recipe below!

1 1/2 oz Maker's Mark
3/4 oz Mezcal
1/4 oz Dolin Rouge
1/4 oz Maple Syrup
4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Stir in a glass full of ice, strain into rocks glass. Garnish with an orange swath.

Inspiration: the sweet smokiness of the ribs used to catch Bigfoot.

So join Rick Dyer, his Bigfoot corpse and the Houston Alamo's Programming Director Robert Saucedo for a genuinely uncommon event. Monday night's tickets are sold out, but you can still get a seat at the Tuesday screening!
