The gimmick of Richard Linklater's Boyhood is pretty simple - and the centerpiece of the film's trailer - he cast a six year old boy in a role and then spent the next decade revisiting him and building a narrative around him growing up. The film debuted at Sundance to rapturous response, especially from the nerd blogger crowd, who rarely goes in for these sorts of indie movies. But they're not the only ones - pretty much everybody who has seen it so far has loved it.
