We all have different opinions when it comes to the V/H/S/ series. I know a lot of people have serious problems with the misogyny displayed in part one. And even the much better received part two has segments that really bother people. I like both movies. And even the parts that aren't as good as others still excited me. After all, the ups and downs are kind of how the whole anthology thing works. And for my money, the found footage aesthetic really does work well in these miniature stories.
So now there's going to be a third one, V/H/S/ Viral. It will feature shorts from Nacho Vigalondo, Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl), Gregg Bishop (Dance of the Dead), and Justin benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution). According to Screen Daily, this one will focus on "fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation."
Sounds good enough to be not awful right off the bat. It seems a little silly to pre-judge this kind of project, so I'll just wish everyone luck and hope it turns out great. The film's rights will sell at the Cannes Film Festival. Hopefully not to Kevin Smith.
