THE EQUALIZER Trailer: Denzel Washington Is A Knight In A World Where Knights Don’t Exist

He's taking on the whole Russian mob to save a prostitute played by Chlo

The Equalizer is a remake of the CBS drama series that ran from 1985-1989, once with Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm. But star Denzel Washington's Training Day director Antoine Fuqua has taken over those duties to deliver the tale of a man - a knight out of time, the new trailer suggests - who takes on the entire Russian mafia to save a young prostitute played by Chloë Grace Moretz.

If the whole "I'll save you, young hooker I just met who clearly needs a hero" premise is a little tired, the trailer looks pretty fun and awesomely violent - but Refn, as is his custom, hasn't held back on criticizing the project and implying that he left it because it's going to be "a bad movie that makes money.”

Are you guys Team Refn or Team Equalizer? If it's the latter, you're in luck: a sequel is already in the works for the September 26 release, written, like the first film, by The Mechanic's Richard Wenk.
