GET ON UP Looks Like Every Other Musician’s Biopic Ever

Except this time it's James Brown.

I don't have anything against music biopics. I mean, they're all the same, but that same thing that they are is totally fine. And Get On Up - Tate Taylor's new James Brown film starring good people Chadwick Boseman, Nelsan Ellis, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer - looks totally fine. I admit, I laughed at the first phantom "OW!" that floated up from the ether of this trailer, but then it slowly turned into a phantom "I Feel Good," and that felt, you know, good. Or fine. Completely okay.

Tate Taylor's last film was The Help, which was by all accounts also totally fine and okay. Get On Up hits theaters August 1, and I bet it will be super okay.
